REPORT: WEXFORD MADE NO IDENTIFIABLE ROAD REPAIRS IN 2014

Wexford is one of ten local authorities around the country which did not complete any identifiable road repairs in 2014.

That’s according to a report from the Department of Transport published today.

There were forty eight road defects identified across County Wexford in 2014 and not one of them were fixed.

Nine other counties fell into the same category – including Waterford.

The county that recorded the most work repair done on its county roads in 2014 was Galway, followed by Kilkenny.

Wexford has one of the biggest share of secondary and local roads in the country and many after the recent excessive rain are in need of repairs.

The report found that the budget for the maintanence of the country’s roads remained the same as it was at the turn of the century, after peaking in 2008.
