SER SPORTS HOUR SUNDAY MARCH 1ST

On Sunday’s South East Radio Sports Hour, Wexford did the business against Carlow in round 5 of the Allianz Hurling League Division 1 Group B. Goals from Rory O’Connor and Dee O’Keeffe put the shine on a 21 point defeat of the near neighbours. It finished 2-29 to 1-11 in favour of Davy Fitzgerald’s team.

Before the game, St James’ man Matthew O’Hanlon was honoured with a special scroll for reaching 100 caps with his county. Matt told Liam Spratt about the strides he has seen Wexford take since his first league game against Galway 9 years ago and how he’s not going anywhere yet.

And we saluted one of the hardest working men in Wexford racing. Colin Bowe now has over 350 winners under his belt in the point to point action and is heading for another handlers championship. In a chat with Aidan Delaney, the Kiltealy man gave us an insight in what to look for at the sales, told us of the pride he feels watching Envoi Allen go on to Cheltenham and how working with Jim Bolger and Aidan O’Brien gave him the best education possible.

You can listen to the South East Radio Sports Hour every Saturday and Sunday 6-7pm with Aidan Delaney.
