SPORT: ARTER RULED OUT OF IRELAND’S WARM UP MATCHES

Harry Arter has been ruled out of Ireland’s pre-Euro2016 warm-up matches with an Achilles injury.

The midfielder will return to Bournemouth for treatment but his chances of featuring in the squad at the Euros haven’t been quashed by assistant manager Roy Keane who says the door remains open.

Derby’s Jeff Hendrick is also struggling ahead of the match against Switzerland and the game next Tuesday against Slovakia. The midfielder has a shoulder injury.

Roy Keane was also asked about his future with the team but he says that he’s tied in with manager Martin O’Neill, who has yet to agree a new contract.
