SPORT: NO CHANCE FOR WEXFORD BOXER TO REACH OLYMPICS

Wexford boxer Adam Nolan has expressed his dissapointment at not being selected to represent Ireland at this year’s Olympic Games in Rio.

The Garda from The Ballagh has been told he will not be attending the qualifying tournament in Istanbul in April.

Ballymena boxer Stephen Donnelly has already been ratified as the only Irish boxer in the welterweight divison to go to the tournament.

He has qualified through the World Series of Boxing even though Adam Nolan claimed his fifth senior Irish title last month.
