SPORT: ROBBEN APOLOGISES FOR DIVING DURING MEXICO GAME

Arjen Robben has apologised for diving in the Netherlands World Cup last-16 clash with Mexico – but insists he didn’t do it for their winning penalty.

The former Chelsea winger went down and won a spot-kick in the dying moments of the game, which helped them progress to the quarter-finals courtesy of a 2-1 victory.

Mexico coach Miguel Herrera has called for the referee who gave the decision to be sent home from the tournament.

The second round continues with two more games today.

France take on Nigeria at 5 while at 9 Germany meet Algeria.

Last night Costa Rica beat Greece on penalties after a 1-all draw.
