SPORT: WEXFORD’S JACK GUINEY PULLS OUT OF SENIOR HURLING SQUAD

In a shock move, Jack Guiney has pulled out of the Wexford Senior Hurling Squad.

The Rathnure man says he has withdrawn for personal reasons.

He had been named to play in last weekend’s defeat against Limerick but was withdrawn beforehand.

It was due to be his first competitive appearance for the county since being allowed back into the squad after being dropped by Liam Dunne for disciplinary reasons last summer.

The 22 year-old’s last match for Wexford was in last year’s Leinster Quarter Final Championship win over Westmeath.

It’s a huge blow with the county losing it’s top scorer in the league last year after Guiney scored 2-26 in five matches.
