Weather Warning For County Wexford

WEATHER WARNING FOR COUNTY WEXFORD

Met Eireann has issued an orange weather warning for County Wexford today.

Conditions will be extremely windy and stormy and spells of heavy rain are expected which may lead to localised flooding.

The orange alert which Met Eireann has issued for Wexford is the second most serious weather warning possible.

It says some structrual damage may also occur across the County as winds of up to 130 kilometers per hour are expected later today, along with spells of heavy rain.

Local authorities here are on high alert again as low lying areas of County Wexford have the potential to flood as a result of the levels of rain forecast.

It comes just a little over a week after the River Barrow burst its banks and flooded the Marshmeadows area of New Ross, which resulted in a number of businesses being forced to close due to the flood damage.

Meanwhile Met Eireann’s most serious weather warning has been issued for Counties Cork and Kerry.

The Red alert is warning of storm force winds – of up to 160 kilometres per hour along with high seas.
