Wicklow Gardai Appeal For Witnesses To Carjacking

WICKLOW GARDAI APPEAL FOR WITNESSES TO CARJACKING

Gardai in Wicklow are renewing their appeal for witnesses to a carjacking in Rathdrum yesterday.

Yesterday afternoon at around half past two – four men travelling in a gold northern registered Volvo S60 crashed into a bus at Clara Vale in Rathdrum.

A German couple in their seventies – travelling in a German registered black Mercedes C180 – stopped at the scene to help and the men made off in their car.

The couple were not injured but were badly shaken by the ordeal.

The black Mercedes was later located in Tullow in Co Carlow and has been preserved for a technical examination.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have seen the Mercedes as it traveled from Rathdrum to Tullow.

They’re also trying to locate three bags – including two large black and blue suitcases – and a third smaller black bag with brown and green stripes which may have been thrown from the car.

Gardaí would also like to appeal for information about the Volvo S60 Which it’s believed was used in a burglary close to Baltinglass and another in the Tinahealy area earlier yesterday.
