Businesses Across County Wexford To Close During Snow Storm On Thursday

A status red weather warning has been issued for County Wexford by Met Eireann from 4pm on Thursday.  Blizzard conditions will make driving treacherous.

A number of businesses & services across County Wexford will be closed during the status red warning.

Businesses/Services Closed:

Murrintown Community Childcare (Tots to Teens) and afterschool Service will remain closed on Thursday and Friday

St Aidan’s Day Services, Milland’s Gorey will be closed until further notice

Grantstown Day Care Centre will remain closed and will reopen on Monday. However Meals on Wheels will be delivered as normal.

St Louis Day Care Centre, Ramsgrange is closed on Thursday and Friday.

Superstars Stage Academy is cancelled in Enniscorthy on Thursday.

Templeshannon Community & Childcare Centre, The Shannon, Enniscorthy will remain closed for the rest of the week.

The Gorey District Court sitting for Thursday has been cancelled and has been adjourned to Wexford District Court, Belvedere Road, Wexford on Monday 5th March.

UPMC Whitfield Cancer Centre, Waterford says its Radiotherapy Department will remain closed on Thursday.  Any patients who had scheduled appointments will be contacted directly to reschedule appointments for Monday 5th March.  Meanwhile  Whitfield Hospital says all surgical procedures, consultant clinics and radiology appointments are cancelled until Sunday 4th of March.  For any urgent inquiries call the administration team on 051 359777.

St. Brigid’s Community Playgroup and afterschool group will remain closed on Thursday and Friday

The St Vincent de Paul Penny Bank will not be open on Friday, it will be back as normal next week (9th March)

New Ross Day Care centre will remain closed on Thursday and Friday. Weather permitting it will be opened again on Monday.

All Bank of Ireland branches across County Wexford will remain closed on Thursday and Friday

The Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection says Social Welfare payments due on Friday 2nd will now be available from Thursday 1st March.  But please be advised that Post Offices will close at 1pm on Thursday 1st March.

The Gardens and Grounds at Johnstown Castle will be closed on Thursday and Friday.  It will reopen on Saturday weather permitting.

Enniscorthy Credit Union’s Offices at Abbey Square Enniscorthy, Ballymurn, Murrintown and Taghmon will be closed on Thursday and Friday.  Weather permitting these offices will open again on Saturday.

All Pettitts Supervalu Stores will close at 3pm on Thursday and will reopen again from 1pm on Friday.

The Farmers Market at Abbey Square in Enniscorthy on Saturday has been cancelled.

Wallaces Wellingtonbridge will close all of its outlets at 2pm on Thursday and will re-open at 2pm on Friday.

Wexford Drama Festival has cancelled its performances for Thursday and Friday.  These performances will be rescheduled.

Lidl is closing all stores across County Wexford from 3pm on Thursday.  They will reopen at 1pm on Friday.

FAB Community and Family Resource Centre/FAB Huggie Bears childcare service in coolcotts will be closed until Monday

The Wexford special Olympics Sports Club draw due to take place on Friday 3rd of March is cancelled and is being rescheduled for Sunday March 10th in Wexford Golf Club

The JFK Arboretum in New Ross will be closed on Thursday and Friday

St. Joseph’s Community Centre in Wexford will close at 4pm on Thursday and reopen at 9am on Saturday.

All sailings of the Passage East Car Ferry are cancelled on Thursday

The bus service for the National Council for the Blind, Lochrann Centre, Wexford will not operate on Friday

St. Patrick’s Penny Bank at the IFA Centre in Enniscorthy will be closed on Friday due to the bad weather.  It will reopen on Friday the 9th of March from 7.30pm to 9pm

The opening of the new Sinn Fein constituency office in Enniscorthy by party President Mary Lou McDonald due to take place on Saturday has been postponed until further notice

Women’s World Day of Prayer due to take place in St. Michaels Church Gorey has been cancelled

Mass at Bride Street Church at 5.45pm on Thursday and 8am & 10am on Friday have been cancelled.

Lake Region Medical in New Ross is closed on Thursday and Friday until after the red weather warning is lifted.  Management will contact all employees on Friday morning about opening times.

The St. John’s Day Care Centre AA Group Meeting on Friday night has been cancelled.  It will now take place on Friday 9th of March.

The Wexford South Semi Final of Wexford LGFA All Stars has been postponed on Saturday and will now take place on Friday 23rd of March in the Horse and Hound in Ballinaboola.

The Country Music Weekend at Clayton Whites Hotel in Wexford Town WILL go ahead on Saturday and Sunday but unfortunately Friday night has been cancelled.

The Wexford District GAA Annual Club Person of the Year Awards due to take place in the Riverbank House Hotel on Saturday night have been postponed.

The following Masses at the Church of the Annunciation Clonard, Wexford have been cancelled Thursday 7pm and Friday 10am & 7pm.

St. Aidan’s Cathedral in Enniscorthy has cancelled its 8am and 10am Masses on Friday.  The Confirmation scheduled for Saturday in St. Aidan’s Cathedral has been cancelled and a new date will be decided next week.

Wexford Bus has suspended all of its services including Wexford to Dublin and Wexford to Waterford for Thursday and Friday.  Weather permitting all services will resume on Saturday.

Cleariestown Credit Union is advising it members that its offices in Baldwinstown and Carrig-on-Bannow will be closed on Friday.  They are expected to open on Saturday weather permitting.

Gorey Gymnastics Club is closed for classes on Thursday

All Primary and Secondary Schools across Co. Wexford will remain closed on Thursday and Friday.

The Wexford Campus of IT Carlow is closed and will reopen on Monday.  All full time and lifelong learning classes are also cancelled during this time.

Waterford and Carlow IT’s are also closed.

New Ross Rugby Club Table Quiz due to be held on Friday 2nd March in the Rugby Club is postponed to a future date.

Marshalstown bingo due on Thursday the 1st is cancelled due to adverse weather and will resume on the 8th March.

The cattle sale at Tullow Mart on Friday 2nd of March has been cancelled

Wexford Naturalists’ Field Club’s March lecture “100 Years of Bat Research in Ireland” by Dr Caroline Shiel, which was due to take place on Thursday 1st March, has been postponed. It will now take place in The Pumphouse at Wexford Wildfowl Reserve at 8pm on Thursday 8th March 2018.

Askamore Monthly Social Dance on Friday 2nd March has been postponed.

The GAA has confirmed that all Allianz Football and Hurling League Fixtures schedule for this weekend have been postponed.  Wexford’s Round 5 games in the Hurling and Football League will now take place on the 10th & 11th of March
