SPORT: SHANE JENNINGS ANNOUNCES RUGBY RETIREMENT

Shane Jennings will captain Leinster this weekend after announcing that he’ll be retiring at the end of the season.

The 33-year-old flanker has decided to call time on a phenomenally successful club career that saw him earn three European Cup medals with Leinster along with three Celtic League titles and an Amlin Cup.

The former Irish international will lead out the team for tomorrow’s Pro-12 clash with Zebre at the RDS.

Meanwhile, former Connacht captain Michael Swift will also hang-up his boots in the summer.

The 37-year-old second-row, who is Connacht’s most-capped and longest-serving player, will step-down after a remarkable 15 seasons in Galway.
