Traffic Management Plans Unveiled For Sheep Shearing Championships

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLANS UNVEILED FOR SHEEP SHEARING CHAMPIONSHIPS

A major traffic management plan has been put in place for the World Sheep Shearing Championships in Gorey.

Thousands are expected to visit the event which takes place at Knockmullen in Gorey from May 22nd to 25th.

There are to be five designated routes to the World Sheep Shearing Championships which will be located on a site adjacent to the Amber Springs Hotel in Gorey about 2km off the M11.

The routes will include exiting the M11 at Junction 23 for both northbound southbound traffic.

There will also be traffiic management plans for traffic coming from the Carnew Ballycanew and Old Arklow roads.

Car parks will be situated along all the designated routes and a shuttle bus service will operate from these areas to the site.

Many thousands of visitors are expected to attend the Golden shears event with twenty eight countries from around the world scheduled to take part.
