Wexford Coalition Tds May Be In Line For Promotions

WEXFORD COALITION TDS MAY BE IN LINE FOR PROMOTIONS

The first of a number of meetings is taking place between the Taoiseach and the new Tánaiste Joan Burton.

It’s expected that we’ll know by Wednesday whether any of County Wexford’s TDs will be part of a planned cabinet reshuffle.

It’s thought Fine Gael Deputy Dr. Liam Twomey could be in line for a junior or senior position in the Health Department.

Labour’s Brendan Howlin, the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, is thought to be staying in his position while Government Chief Whip Paul Kehoe is being linked with the Agriculture portfolio.

But Wexford’s Noel Whelan of the Irish Times says Enda Kenny may not want that to happen.

He says they will have developed a relationship that the Taoiseach relies on day to day and that he may want Minister Kehoe to stay in his position.
