Nurses At Beaumont Hospital To Work-to-rule Later This Month

NURSES AT BEAUMONT HOSPITAL TO WORK-TO-RULE LATER THIS MONTH

Nurses are Beaumont Hospital in Dublin say the only way their industrial action can be averted later this month is if there is a huge improvement in the trolleys crisis.

Members of the INMO are holding a lunchtime protest at the hospital this afternoon.

They are engaging in a work-to-rule, in protest at what the INMO feels to be an unsafe level of overcrowding, on 27th January.

Industrial relations officer with the INMO Lorraine Monaghan says if there is no sign of improvement, the action could escalate.

“The industrial action will begin with a work to rule, where there will be a withdrawal from clerical and admin duties” she said.

“However this will escalate to work stoppages if real and necessary change is not implemented prior to the 27th of January” she added.
